Battle Arena!

For this task, I have to create out own Battle Arena. My idea is to create an Underwater Icy Cave in a small Cave called Pavlopetri, it is an old ruined icy cave that has been missing for centuries and has been found and is now used as an Arena.

Here is my Moodboard:

An outline of what the textures might be for my Battle Arena:

My 5 main Assets are The Collum, Seats, Spikes, Flags and Rocks.

I started to put my Battle Arena in Unity and started texturing. I  created a few of my own textures for the Arena Flag.

I exported the Plane which is my Flag before I made a waving flag using nCloth.

Here is what it looks like inside Unity. The design I was going for was a very Icy cold themed flag that will suit the scene but also stand out.

This texture is for my Flag Pole Box:

Coloured it in Brownish Red with a bold Red outline

Finished Design for the Bottom pole Texture.

This is the Flag Pole Texture:

This is the texture I am going to use for the flag pole from a site called Textures.com

Final design of the texture, I chose that texture and then took the color out of the texture to apply on the other objects.

Finished Design for the Bottom pole Texture.

Here is a gif image of my Flag moving in Maya using nCloth:

For the rest of the textures I added textures from the Unity Asset store that is free; PBS Materials Variety Pack, 10 High Resolution Wall Textures and Yughes Free Concrete Materials.

Here is a shot of a part of the Battle Arena that is not complete yet

Those Ice Packs I used the texture from one of the packs because It stands out and compliments my Battle Arena. I used a Sci Fi texture for a few of the rocks because I feel it compliments the rest of the arena!

Those steps are Seats where the people watch the battle, in between the seats is a pathway where all the contenders walk down to the arena platform.

This is the platform where the players battle it out! The block in the middle is an elevator platform that the player that wins stands on the platform and takes the fame!

I started adding some particle effects to my Battle Arena. I added some bubbles to represent my Battle Arena theme of being on top of water.

I then added some water in the background so the Battle Arena is in the middle of no where and just floats and stays in that position.

Finally, I added my statue into my Battle Arena and it is now complete!

In conclusion, this was a pretty interesting task because I learnt quite a lot. I had a few problems with zbrush when UV unwrapping but in the end I figured it out and had to zmesh and remesh the mermaid statue and export it. I then used a software called x normal to do my normal map and occlusion map. I then created a material inside unity and attached the normal and occlusion map inside the material and it came out quite deformed but I liked it because it portrays the theme of a statue. Overall, it was a hard task to do but I managed to finish the statue and it looks very good.

Making a Barrel!

For this task we had to learn Maya by creating a Barrel.

For this, I textured my Barrel using just a simple color Black and Red.
